the base-ball

Got yer classic Major League Baseball play-off teams.
* got yer Oakland Athletics (formerly of Philadelphia, formerly of Kansas City)
* got yer Detroit Tigers
* got yer St. Louis Cardinals
* got yer Washington Nationals (once known as the Senators)
* got yer San Francisco Giants (formerly of New York)
* got yer Cincinnati Reds (the erstwhile Big Red Machine)
* got yer New York Yankees (yes, THOSE Yankees)
* got yer Baltimore Orioles

So what's the big deal?
Let me tell you.
Dicey proposition or no, there's more to baseball's post-season than a roll of the dice.
There's the drama.
There's the controversy about performance-enhancing drugs.
There's the late-inning pitching fireworks.

Also?
There's the Chicago White Sox book.
I was pretty excited about this book.
Touted itself as a 2007 edition.
Turns out?
Book was published in the 1950s or so.
Yeah.
They re-printed it.
So, I'm all excited about this book.
Then I find out it's about fifty years old.
Not that being fifty years old is bad or sommething.
I'm jsut saying.
